  Abstract

In this paper, we implemented and validated a software defined radio-based magnetic induction (MI) wireless communication system to enable obstacle penetration and signal transmission between interior and exterior of metal-shielding environments. To verify the MI communication utilizing mutual inductance property, transmitter and receiver coil antennas were fabricated, and the performance of the implemented system was demonstrated through experiments conducted in a metal-shielding environment.
