  Abstract

To achieve low power operation in wireless sensor network, conventional S-MAC adapts fixed duty cycle. And T-MAC protocol apply TA period to solve the energy problem which is wasted inneccessarily, by using sleep method when there is no data to transmit. B-MAC employs an adaptive preamble sampling scheme to reduce duty cycle and minimize idle listening. By comparing these protocol to each other, and by analyzing each factors of energy consumption, this paper shows that flexibility results in better packet delivery rates, throughput, latency, and energy consumption.
