  Abstract

Microwave Power Trasmission(MPT) can be used variously because it can transmit electric power over long distance compared to oher methods used for Wireless Power Transmission(WPT). However, since the path becomes long and the frequency becomes high, the transmission efficiency becomes worse. In this paper, we design an antenna using Electromagnetic Band Gap structure(EBGs) to improve MPT efficiency in multiuser, evaluate the performance. A heterodyne phase conjugate circuit using Intermediate Frequency IF) is designed to verify RetroDirective Array(RDA) characteristics. Simulation results show that the antenna with EBGs designed in this paper has about 5 ~ 12% performan- ce improvement and 3 dB angular width narrower than the antenna without EBGs, and the signal has retrodirective if it passes through the phase conjugate circuit.
