  Abstract

In this paper, we newly propose an enhanced two-step random access (RA) procedure based on a random pilot selection (RPS) technique and analyze its performance in terms of one-shot success probability. We validate our mathematical approach via extensive MATLAB simulations, and verify the superiority of our proposed scheme compared to the conventional two-step RA scheme.
