The MIB which is crucial for UE’s initial access is encoded with polar code and then rate-matched before being mapped onto subcarriers for PBCH. In this paper, we propose simple modification on rate-matching which could improve receiving performance of PBCH by increasing frequency diversity. The proposed scheme improves block error rate performance of PBCH reception without any additional complexity.
