In a 5G network, the location of a terminal is determined by calculating the position value based on the Time of Arrival (TOA) of Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) signals transmitted from each base station. The study proposes an algorithm that enhances the accuracy of TOA calculations in low-sampling environments through the implementation of 5G PRS for positioning technology in wireless network systems. Furthermore, it examines the impact of flexible time-frequency resource allocation of PRS signals on TOA estimation accuracy and contributes to the advancement of positioning technology. The discussion also covers the optimal PRS configuration strategies to maximize location estimation accuracy under the given signal environment.
